TIMELINE
2015
PrePodiatryLife was founded by Roberto De Los Santos on June 2015 in order to promote and bring awareness to the field of podiatric medicine in the modern age. He created the website in his room in Alameda, California. In his spare time Mr. De Los Santos would go to free seminars in the San Francisco area to learn computer coding. In an attempt to create his first website, it took him a total of 6 months for a completed podiatry student website.
However, after just four months of self promoting, and self marketing, the stress of balancing podiatry medical school and an online website deemed too much, therefore Mr. De Los Santos decided to focus on school. At this time the website seem like a failure and was forgotten.
2017
Two years later after reviewing the online website, to his surprise it slowly had grown in the international online presence. With this in mind, further updates were performed to create a respectable student website for future younger students to benefit from.
2018
On February 2018, Mr. De Los Santos was inspired to write up three separate articles which he was eager to publish on an online medical magazine. After being rejected by 15 different pre-medicine/ medicine magazines, Mr. Roberto De Los Santos learned from his failures and sparked the idea to create the first online student-run magazine for the field of podiatry.
It was at this time on May 2018, where he created Hallux Magazine.
“For students. By students.“
“The first magazine with Podiatry students in mind.”
In addition, with his new found inspiration, on May 2018 he continued to create two additional websites including PrePodiatryStudy.com and PrePodiatryClinic101.com to help students with their academic learning. He was able to create a total of three websites in just 1 month.
The first class of Leadership students for the 2018-2019 class included 15 podiatry students.
2019
Hallux Magazine was chosen as one of the winners of the Digital Health Awards Spring 2019 Bronze Certificate.
